Development progress
Read2Me is an independently developed project. This page provides a plain-language view of what exists, what is actively being improved, and what is still taking shape.
Current focus
The central engineering goal is not simply generating audio. It is creating a dependable production system that can carry written work from source text to finished, editable, synchronized assets.

Read2Me Studio is organized around Text → Voice → Audio → Export. Development is focused on making each stage dependable and reducing the manual intervention required to complete a production.
Finished examples are essential for showing how multi-speaker narration, character assignment, synchronized reading, and production exports differ from a conventional single-voice result.
Library-facing materials and guided-reading concepts are being organized around practical patron use, accessibility, public-domain programming, and feedback from real institutions.
Role-aware audio, character muting, and separate character tracks create a clear path toward rehearsal packages for actors, educators, directors, and community productions.
Patreon supports the community, GitHub Sponsors supports engineering, and Ko-fi will provide a simple one-time contribution option when its profile is activated.
What this page is not
Independent software development rarely moves in a straight line. A transparent description of current capabilities and constraints is more useful than an arbitrary progress bar.
